I Hate New Years Resolutions

This time of year, everyone is on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook dishing about their New Years Resolution. I used to hate it because I’m honestly just cynical like that but then I started hating it because every time I would try to make one, I just couldn’t stick to it. So recently I decided that if I was going to do something, I might as well start today. For instance, I said I was going to go back to the gym. Instead of waiting for January 1st to roll around so I could sign up for a gym membership, I signed up for it today so I’d be forced to get my money’s worth. (Because who likes wasting money?)

The thing with me and deadlines is that when I miss one, I have to set an entirely new one. For instance, if I planned to study at 8 and I miss it by 2 minutes, I’d set a new time for 8:30. AND THUS PROCRASTINATION WAS BORN.

Same for my resolutions honestly. I’d say “I’m going to eat healthy starting January 1st, totally forget, and decide “Alright, try again February.”

Don’t be a me. If you want to do something, what’s stopping you from doing it now?
